Hustings for prospective parliamentary candidates for the Devon Central constituency: 7pm 28th August 2019

23 August 2019

The Devon Central constituency is spread across three local Green Parties and the selection of a parliamentary candidate for it is being coordinated by the Mid Devon Green party. Nominations have been invited and the next step is an opportunity for GP members to meet the prospective candidates....

Hustings for the prospective parliamentary candidates for the Devon Central constituency will be held at 7pm for 7:30pm on Wednesday, 28th August, 2019, at The Crediton Arts Centre.

Three candidates, Gerald Conyngham, Ruth Testa and Andy Williamson, have been nominated as candidates for the prospective Green Party parliamentary candidate for the Central Devon constituency. We would love you to come along to: meet them; ask them questions; debate their answers and make a decision about how to vote on your favoured candidate. There may even be some refreshments!

The Arts Centre is in East St, in Crediton, EX17 3AX, opposite Holy Cross, the main Anglican church in Crediton, and next to Hayward’s Primary School. There is some – limited - parking on the site. If that is full, you could try the car park opposite (behind the church).  There is a bus stop just outside the centre serving bus numbers 5, 5A, 5B, 5C and 369. The railway station is on the Tarka line and is approximately half a mile away from the venue.

We are hoping to set up a live link via Facebook, so, if you are unable to attend, you should be able to follow proceedings online; details to follow.

You can also send questions in advance of the meeting. Please send your questions to our chairperson for the event, Malcolm Calder, email address mwcalder@doctors.org.uk

Voting to select the candidate will take place in the days following the hustings (and not actually at the hustings). This will be carried out using STV and all Green Party members who live in the constituency will be eligible to vote. The vote will be carried out online for any members with an email address that allows us to contact them via email. For other members, for example those with no email, voting will be carried out by post.

Please phone me on 01363 774971 or 07734 154607 for further information or advice.
